Launkalne ( Latvian. Launkalne ) is a settlement in the Smiltene municipality of Latvia . The administrative center of Launkalne parish . Located near the A2 road (European route E 77 ). The distance to the town of Valka is about 61 km [1] .

According to data for 2007, 199 people lived in the settlement [2] . There is a volost administration, elementary school, community center, library, medical assistant, post office, shop.
History
The locality arose at the former estate Launcalna.
In Soviet times, the town was the center of the Launkalna village council of the Valka district . The state farm “Launkalne” was located in the village [1] .
