Pavel Platonovich Weimarn ( 1857 , St. Petersburg - September 10 [23], 1905 , Narva ) - Russian musicologist , music critic and composer [3] .

He came from the Weimarn family of nobles. He graduated from the First St. Petersburg Classical Gymnasium . He served in the Life Guards Semyonovsky Regiment .
Since 1880 it was published in the Russian Musical Newspaper , the magazine Son of the Fatherland and other periodicals [3] . In 1888-1890 he was the editor-publisher of the music magazine " Bayan " [4] . He received a musical education under the guidance of Haller and Kazbiryuk (theory) and Karl Karlovich van Ark (piano).
He wrote several brochures about M.I. Glinka , about E.F. Napravnik and about C.A. Cui . The author of romances and plays for piano and cello - of low dignity. He defended the original trends in Russian music [5] .
