Oleg Petrovich Omelchuk (born June 7, 1983 in Velikye Selishchi ) is a Ukrainian shooter, international master of sports in bullet shooting in Ukraine , a bronze medalist at the World Championships.

Biography

In 2002, he began working at the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports - an athlete-instructor. In 2005 he graduated from the International University of Economics and Humanities named after academician Stepan Demyanchuk with a degree in finance.

Repeated winner of championships and championships of Ukraine, champion of Europe and the world in the team standings among juniors, winner of the World Cup finals. Three times won the stages of the World Cup, twice was a medalist. Bronze medalist of the European Championship in the individual event of 2001. The participant of the XXIX Summer Olympic Games in Beijing - took fourth place [1] [2] . At the 2012 Olympics in London, he became fifth in shooting at 10 meters and 29th at shooting at 50 meters [3] . He also participated in the 2016 Olympics .

Since 2001, she has been constantly included in the top ten best athletes of the Rivne region in Olympic sports. Record holder of Ukraine in exercise PP-3 (air gun) 2009.

In March 2010, at the European Shooting Championships in the city of Meroker ( Norway ), the team won a silver medal - shooting with a pneumatic pistol at 10 meters (exercise PP-3) - together with Oleg Stepko ( Dnepropetrovsk ), lost 2 points to the Russian team. In the spring of 2013 in Fort Benning ( USA ) at the World Cup for bullet shooting in shooting from an air gun showed the second result [4] . At the end of May 2016, he received a gold award at the stage of the World Cup in bullet shooting in Munich [5] .

In 2018, together with Elena Kostevich, he won the bronze medal of the world championship in mixed team competitions [6] .

He has the military rank of ensign, scholarship holder of the President of Ukraine in 2011.
