The results of men's competitions in gymnastics in floor exercises - one of the eight disciplines in gymnastics at the 17 year old 1960 Olympic Games in Rome .
Until 1996, participants in the World Championships and the Olympic Games had to perform mandatory exercises compiled by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) and arbitrary (compiled by the athletes themselves in compliance with certain requirements for difficulty) exercises. After 1996, compulsory exercises were canceled, and gymnasts began to perform only arbitrary exercises at all competitions.
