M. Staritsky planned to turn it into a monthly magazine. However, he managed to publish only two issues of the almanac, of which the first came out in 1883, and the second in 1884.

The publications were based on the works of democratic writers - the poetry of M. Staritsky and his play “Not Fated”, two parts of the story “Walking” and two stories from the series “How It Is Being Lived” by Panas Mirny , the story of I. Nechuy-Levitsky “Mikola Jeria ", The story of I. Karpenko-Kary (I. K. Tobilevich)" Rookie ", A. Konoshchenko " Grandfather ", the works of Y. Schogolev , N. Sadovsky , Olena Pchilka , B. Grinchenko , Ganna Barvinok , P. Kulish , D Mordovtseva and others.

In the almanac “Rada” was published a journalistic article by V. Vasilenko “On the Agricultural Union”, which showed poverty and social inequality in the Ukrainian village.

M. Komarov made the first bibliographic result of the development of Ukrainian literature in the East Ukrainian lands - “Indicator. Bibliographic Index of New Ukrainian Literature ”, which covered the period from 1798 to 1883.

In the history of Ukrainian literature, this almanac played a significant role.
