Club career

Kanyu Sugimoto is a graduate of the Sereso Osaka club from his hometown. July 23, 2011 Sugimoto made his debut in J-League 1 , replacing at the very end of the home match against Shimizu S-Pals [2] . On August 24 of the same year, he scored his first goal at the highest level, reducing the backlog in the away game with the Yokohama F. Marinos team [3] . At the end of March 2012, Sugimoto was leased to the J-League 2 club “ Tokyo Verdi ”, where he played until mid-July, having spent 18 matches in the championship and scoring 5 goals.

In the 2015 season, Sugimoto played for J-League 1 Kawasaki Frontale . On May 23, 2015, he took a double in a home meeting with the Sagan Tosu club [4] . Since the beginning of 2016, Kenyu Sugimoto has again represented Cereso Osaka , playing in the J-League 2.

Team Career

As part of the youth national team of Japan, Kenyu Sugimoto performed at the 2009 World Championship among youth teams in Nigeria , where in the first round of the group stage he evened the score in a duel with the youth national team of Brazil [5] .

Kenyu Sugimoto was included in the Japanese Olympic team at the 2012 London Olympics soccer tournament . He spent four of the seven matches of his team in this competition, appearing in the main team only in the game with the Olympic team of Honduras [6] .
