Biography

Matt Kuchar was born in 1978 in the city of Winter Park in the state of Florida in a Ukrainian family [1] . He studied at the Georgia Institute of Technology , where he began to show high results in golf. Having completed his studies and received a bachelor's degree in management in 2000, Kuchar decided to obtain the professional status of a golfer. As part of the PGA Tour, Kuchar won 7 victories, and another 21 times became the winner. During his career, Matt received more than $ 30 million in prize money, and in 2010 he became the leader of the Tour in this regard.

In August 2016, Matt Kuchar took part in the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , the program of which, after 112 years, golf returned. Throughout the tournament, Kuchar showed rather average results and before the last day of the competition he divided only 7th place, lagging behind the 3rd position on which Australian Marcus Fraser was located by 4 hits. The fourth round the American golfer spent very well, having passed the field in 63 hits (8 below pairs), which was a repeat of the best result of the tournament. Previously, only Fraser was able to show the same amount in the first round. Kuchar’s successful completion of the 4th round, with not very good results among his competitors, allowed the American to rise sharply in the final protocol and become the bronze medalist of the Games.

He played for the USA in the Ryder Cup in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
