Club career
Leeds United
He was brought up at the Leeds United Football Academy and made his debut for this club (which at that time held leading positions in England) in 1998 in a match against Chelsea . In the 2003/04 season, he scored his first professional goal in the League Cup against Swindon Town .
Tottenham Hotspurs
In May 2004, it was bought by Tottenham for a half million pounds. Having displaced the American Casey Keller from the veteran goalkeeper’s workshop, Paul became the main first issue of Spurs. Several times he took the team out as a captain, but in the 2007/08 season a number of mistakes cost him a place at the base, and London coach Juande Ramos began to put the Czech goal Radek Cerny more often.
On March 17, 2007, Robinson scored a second goal in his professional career, in the Premier League game against Watford on White Hart Lane. This goal has become incredible; from 75 yards, knocking a free kick from his half of the field, the ball flew all over the field and hit the collar of Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster .
Blackburn Rovers
On July 25, 2008, Robinson joined Blackburn by signing a five-year contract. On July 29, it was confirmed during an interview that he would wear the number 1 T-shirt released after Brad Friedel left. After Blackburn left for the Championship , there were rumors that Robinson could return to the Premier League, to the Queens Park Rangers and West Ham United. However, no proposal came true; speculation continued over Robinson's future throughout the season.
In March 2013, Robinson was expelled before the end of the season due to a back injury. However, in April, he suffered from complications, and was expelled for 6 months as a result of a pulmonary embolism after his surgery. January 4, 2014. After a year of serious injury, Robinson returns to duty, playing in the FA Cup at home against Manchester City 1: 1 (0: 5). January 11, 2014. Robinson played his first match in the 2013/14 season, in the Championship , having won 1-0 against the Doncaster Rovers .
November 15, 2014. Robinson announced his intention to leave the club in the January transfer window. However, at the end of the 2014/15 season, Blackburn did not renew the contract with Robinson, he soon became a free agent.
Burnley
On January 26, 2016, Robinson joined Burnley as a free agent, the contract is valid until the end of the 2015/16 season. On June 27, 2016, Paul extended the contract with the club for one year.
On July 17, 2017, Robinson, aged 37, decided to end his playing career. The reason was the player’s constant problems with his back [1] .
Team Career
By the end of the 2007/08 season, he had over 40 games in the England squad. Robinson was the substitute for David James in the qualifying and final tournaments of Euro 2004 , the main goalkeeper in the qualifying and final tournaments of the 2006 World Cup , in the qualifying tournament of Euro 2008 . But after England did not enter Euro 2008, Robinson stopped being called up to the national team, preferring not only veteran David James , but also young Robert Green and Joe Hart .
August 8, 2010. A few hours after being called up to England for a friendly match against Hungary, Paul Robinson announced the end of his international career. For the England national team, Robinson made his debut in 2003 in a match against Australia. Since then, he has held 41 fights for the national team. The last of them was a defeat in Moscow from the Russian team with a score of 2: 1 in the qualifying match of Euro 2008 .
