History
Secondary school No. 65 was founded on August 13, 1959 by a decision of the Executive Committee of the Minsk City Council of Workers' Deputies. In those years, the school building was located in the Voroshilovsky district of the city of Minsk on 4 Chapaeva Street.
From 1959 to 1962, the first director of the school was Emma Ludwigovna Sinkevich. The teaching staff consisted of 57 teachers. The school building was designed for 920 seats, and 957 students studied in it. Classes were held in two shifts.
From 1962 to 1975, the director of the school was a man with an amazing and complex biography - Grigory Tivonovich Sivakov. Before the start of World War II, he worked as a teacher. From 1941 to 1946 he was at the front. From October 1947 to 1949 - student of the Republican Party School. From September 1953 to 1959 he worked as the director of ShRM No. 25, secondary school No. 33 and No. 54 of the city of Minsk. From March 1959 to 1962 he worked as the head of the Minsk GORONO.
On October 13, 1966, by Decree of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR, secondary school No. 65 was named after Hero of the Soviet Union pilot Boris Semenovich Okrestin. On November 6, 1977, a memorial dedicated to the hero pilots who fell in battles for Belarus was unveiled in front of the building of secondary school No. 65 in Minsk.
September 1, 1974 school number 65 moved to a new building. Since then, the address of the school became Kuybysheva str. 79, building 2.
On July 30, 2009, secondary school No. 65, on the basis of a decision of the Minsk City Executive Committee No. 1809, was renamed the state educational institution “Gymnasium No. 30 of Minsk named after Hero of the Soviet Union B.S. Okrestina ".
Educational process
The structure of the institution includes a division into three stages:
- Elementary school (grades 1–4)
- Gymnasium classes (5-9)
- Gymnasium classes in the direction - humanitarian (10-11)
In the 2015-16 academic year, 439 children were enrolled in primary school, 654 in high school [1] .
Extracurricular activities include theatrical, literary, and musical circles, economic studios, clubs, and arts and crafts classes.

Museum of Military and Labor Glory
The Museum of Fighting and Labor Glory of the gymnasium No. 30 of Minsk named after Hero of the Soviet Union B.S.Orestin is dedicated to five flight crews, 13 hero pilots of the Great Patriotic War who died in the initial period of the war during the defensive battles for Minsk, Mogilev in the summer of 1941 and in the summer of 1944 during the offensive operation "Bagration".
