First released on January 27, 1347 [1] . Initially, 33 coins weighing 7.42 grams each were minted from 1 Parisian brand of pure (24-carat) gold. At first it corresponded to 75 Turkish salts (su) [2] [3] . The difficult economic situation forced the authorities to soon spoil the coin . Already on August 8, 1341, the weight of the anzhedora was reduced to 6.44 g (38 from one brand), and on June 26, 1342 to 5.83 g (42 from one brand) [2] .
The coin got its name because of the image of the archangel Michael on the obverse, which holds the French coat of arms [3] .
Anzhedors were released in Flanders in 1386 under Philip II the Bold and in Brabant under the reign of the Duchess of Jeanne . Flanders aszhenders weighing 4.8 g of 23.5 carat gold corresponded to 60 pennies [2] .
