Mechil Verslois ( Dutch: Mechiel Versluis , born July 29, 1987) is a Dutch athlete, rower, medalist of the European and World Rowing Championships, as well as the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Biography
Mehil Verslois was born on July 29, 1987 in the Amstelveen community, which is part of the metropolitan area of Amsterdam. He began his professional career as a rower since 2007. The first international competition that Verslois took part in was the II stage of the 2009 rowing world cup in Munich (2009 WORLD ROWING CUP II). As part of the four with a score of 06: 29.020, his team took 5th place, losing the fight for bronze to rivals from Poland (06: 27.850 - 4th place) and China (06: 24.710 - 3rd place) [1] .
Verslois won his first champion gold at the 2013 European rowing championship in Seville . With a result of 6: 21.79 in the fours swim, the Dutch rowers took first place, ahead of rivals from Romania (6: 23.83 - 2nd place) and Germany (6: 24.94 - 3rd place) [2] .
The 2013 Chongju Rowing World Championships brought another gold medal to his asset. The Dutch team won the first place with a score of 6: 13.95 ( Boaz Meilink , Kai Hendricks , Robert Lücken and Mehiel Verslois). The second and third went to teams from Australia (6: 14.58) and the USA (6: 15.46). Two years later, at the 2015 World Championships in rowing , which took place in the French city of Egbelet-le-Lac, Verslois took third place in the eight [3] .
During the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Verslois earned a bronze in the eight. The Dutch rowers, with a score of 05: 31.590, lost the championship to teams from the UK (05: 29.630) and Germany (05: 30.960) [4] .
