Content
History
The university was established in December 1964 as the "Vladivostok branch of the Moscow Institute of National Economy named after Georgiy Valentinovich Plekhanov ." In April 1968, by decree of the Government of the USSR, it was transformed into an independent institution - the Far Eastern Institute of Soviet Trade (DVIST). In 1991, the university was renamed the “Far Eastern Commercial Institute” (FEFI), in 1996 it received the status of the academy and the new name “Far Eastern State Academy of Economics and Management” (FENUAU), and finally, in 2004 it received the status of a university and was renamed at the Pacific State University of Economics (TSEU).
General Information
The University was the oldest economic university in the Far East , including 8 institutes, 28 departments and 4 branches in the cities of Nakhodka , Ussuriysk , Arsenyev . The university had four modern educational buildings, two hostel buildings, gyms, a sports club, a hotel, shops, a library with a reading room and a developed library computer network, and its own publishing house.
At the end of 2004, the university had 468 faculty members, including: candidates of sciences - 258, doctors of sciences - 34, associate professors - 208, professors - 31, academicians - 32. 12,240 students studied at the university .
Youth Center TSEU
A youth center (MC) was actively working at the university. Students participated in all-university as well as inter-university competitions, sports and athletics contests. The well-known dance competition “Reverence” was also conducted by the TSEU MC.
