Premiere

Shortly after the completion of The Marriage of Figaro, Beaumarchais reads it in salons, and the play becomes widely known. In the first version of the comedy, the case takes place in France. Despite the censorship, the play is forbidden by King Louis XVI . Beaumarchais brings action comedy to Spain . However, the conventions of the Spanish scenery were understandable to everyone, and at the last moment the king cancels the play based on the play, again putting it under the ban. The discontent caused by such a decision forces Louis XVI to allow the production.

The premiere took place on April 27, 1784 with triumphal success. The opera of W. Mozart (1786), written on the play of Beaumarchais, gained world fame. In Russia , “The Marriage of Figaro” was introduced shortly after its creation. Catherine II in November 1781 wished to receive the text of the comedy. In the spring of 1782, Beaumarchais read it to the heir to the Russian throne, the future Paul I , who traveled throughout Europe under the name of the Earl of the North (Du Nord).

First played in 1783 in the house of Count Francois de Vodreil , in Gennevilliers, in front of court spectators. The first production on the professional stage was on April 27, 1784 at the Comedy Frances Theater (Count Almaviva - Mole, Countess - Saint-Val, Figaro - Dazencourt, Suzanne - Comte, Antonio - Belmont, Cherubino - Olivier, Bartolo - Desessar, Basil - Wangov , Bridouison - Preville, Duguazon, Flu-Soleil - Lariv). Visiting Paris in 1787, Evgraf Komarovsky recalled [1] :

Beaumarchais shortly before composed his comedy “Figarova Marriage”. When it was presented, the audience almost went into a frenzy, and every time the curtain fell, the whole stall yelled “Until tomorrow!” This comedy was given 130 times in a row. It is true that the best actors of that time played in it: Mole, Dazincourt, Dugazon, m-lle Contat, Olivur, m-me Vieumenille and others.

Later, Beaumarchais's play was again banned and entered the repertoire of French theaters only in the mid-90s. XVIII century. The role of Figaro was played by E. Go, F. Rainier, B.K. and A.O. Coqulen, later, V. de Sica, D. Sorano and others. Among the performers of the role of Almaviva are the Polish director and actor Boguslavsky. In 1957, “The Marriage of Figaro” was staged by the National Theater under the direction of Vilar.
