Biography

He received a bachelor's degree in economics from Bocconi University in Milan in 1981. He became a master’s (1985) at Harvard University, then received his doctoral degree (1986).

Since 1988 teaches at Harvard University. 2003-2006 Dean of the Harvard School of Economics. Director of Programs, National Bureau of Economic Research [2] . The main field of research is political economics.

In the book “Liberalism is a left-wing idea,” refutes stereotypical ideas about socio-economic policy, arguing that those who not in word but in fact care about the needs of the poor in society should protect meritocracy , competition , flexible labor and capital markets, balanced budget and state withdrawal from the economy [3] .
