A collection of religious songs The God-Voglas was compiled on the basis of handwritten song books of the 17th – 18th centuries. His first printed publication saw the light of 1790 in Volyn at the Pochaev printing house . Then, until the beginning of the 20th century, the collection was repeatedly reprinted [1] [2] .

Song Themes

Among the most popular song themes were works of the Christmas cycle, many of which have survived to this day. There were also theotokos songs, imbued with warmth and lyrics and, generally, songs glorifying Jesus Christ , locally revered saints and reverends , and miraculous icons . In addition, the repentant psalms of King David , for example, No. 50 [6] [7] , became quite common.
