The first international tournament for Glushchenko was the Junior World Championships in 1996, where he took 22nd place. A year later, he won his first medals: bronze at the European Junior Championships and gold at the World Championships in Perth [1] .
Glushchenko competed in the triathlon at the 2000 Summer Olympics . He took 11th place with a total time of 1: 49: 30,17 [2] . Four years later, Glushchenko spoke at the 2004 Summer Olympics , but was unable to continue the competition after swimming [3] . Similarly ended for him and the 2008 Olympics in Beijing .
