Biography
From his youth, he was a member of the Zemun criminal gang (Zemun clan) with his brother Milos , who was only officially involved in 17 murders of both ordinary citizens and rivals from other gangs. Simovich was somehow involved (executor or accomplice) in the following crimes [1] :
- 2000: Zoran “Skole” Uskokovich, Milos Stevanovic, Todor Gardashevich, Srdjan Lewicz, Zeljko Bodic were killed; Vuk Bayrushevich was kidnapped.
- 2001: Dragoslav Vukovich, Miroslav Mishkovich and Milenko Aleksich (businessman from Subotica) were killed;
- 2002: the owner of the Verano Motors enterprise Mila Babovich was kidnapped, who was detained for 40 days, and then Suad Batko Musich; killed Ivica Nikolic, Medium “Shlyuk” Shlyukich, Zoran Shlyukich, Jovan “Zuner” Guzyan, Ivitsa Jovanovic, Nenad Batochanin, Zeljko Shkrb; an attempt was made to assassinate Lyubish “Plague” Bukh.
Simovic was charged with explosions in the editorial office of the Belgrade newspaper Dan and the car service station Atsa, for which Alexander received three and a half years in prison. He had a political dislike of Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic . On March 12, 2003, a group of conspirators organized an assassination attempt on Djindjic , ending in the death of the Prime Minister. Alexander Simovich during the murder was in the building of the photogrammetry plant.
Alexander Simovich was arrested on November 28, 2006 by the Serbian police, and a gun, a machine gun, two grenades and a fake passport were seized from him during his arrest [2] . The court sentenced him on May 23, 2007 to 35 years in prison for his crimes (including for participating in the murder of Zoran Dzhindzhich). With his own brother Milos , also convicted of murder, he met for the first time after his arrest and conviction only in 2012 [3] .
