Biography
From the beginning of the 1930s to the 1970s he worked at the GNIIS .
Together with M.G. Chernyak and M.S. Aslanova, he developed a technology for the production of fiberglass: glass is melted in a boat made of a refractory platinum alloy. At the bottom of the boat there are holes (dies) with a diameter of about 1 mm. The molten glass mass under the influence of its own weight slowly flows through the holes in the form of threads, the diameter of which is approximately equal to the diameter of the holes. Due to this speed, the glass thread, until it has had time to completely cool and harden, is drawn into a thin fiber.
Candidate of Technical Sciences . He was buried in Moscow at the Vostryakovsky cemetery .
Awards and Prizes
- Stalin Prize of the third degree (1941) - for the invention of an industrial method for the production of yarn and fabric from continuous glass fiber.
