Borki is a village in the Valuy district of the Belgorod region . The center of the Borchansky rural settlement , which also includes the villages of Sukharevo, Kurgashki, Karabanovo, Novopetrovka and Babka Farm.

History
Name Origin
Where the Sukhaya and Wet Kazinka rivers merge into one channel, on the populated slopes of river valleys in the 17th – 18th centuries. there were small evergreen islands of chalk pine ... Prince Peter Golitsyn called the settlement of his subjects settled among the Borki Petrovsky, but the people began to call her Borki [2] .
Over time, in the name of Borki, the stress migrated from “and” to “about”.
Historical Review
The appearance of the village probably dates back to the late 1750s. In one of the documents of the archive of ancient acts of Russia, the “New Settlement Settlement Borok of the Valuysky District” is mentioned in 1759. In 1900, the next Borki (Petrovskoye) "at Lake Kazinka in the Urazovo volost of the Valuysky district - 431 yards, 2714 Slobozhans, a church, 2 public buildings, a zemstvo school, an oil mill, kruporushka, 3 petty and wine shops, an inn, 4 fairs."
In 1926-1928 settlement (later a village) - the center of the village council in the Urazovsk district of the Belgorod region.
In 1932, in the following. Borki had 1829 inhabitants. The village council included from Sukharevo and 3 farmsteads. In 1948, a hut-reading room was organized in Borki at the village club, collecting a hundred books from the villagers.
In August 1950, a library was opened at the village club with book collections - “a thousand titles” and 312 readers. Later, the library was allocated a spacious room in the new House of Culture. In the 1980s the book stock amounted to almost 15 thousand, and the number of readers grew to 652.
In 1979, 987 people lived in Borki, in 1989–940 (498 men and 442 women).
In the early 1990s from. Borki - the center of the village council (2 villages and a farm) and the center of the collective farm. T. G. Shevchenko (406 collective farmers) engaged in crop production and animal husbandry. By the beginning of 1998, Borki had 1,059 inhabitants and 310 households.
