He studied at the University of Halle , but having learned about Kant's philosophy, he achieved ( 1788 ) a transfer to Königsberg . About a year I listened to Kant's lectures and was very close to him, admitting in letters that he had found his second father in the great philosopher. In October 1789 , he left Koenigsberg and moved to Berlin , where he was awaited by the post of teacher of the three youngest children of King Friedrich Wilhelm II . Kizevetter’s paths diverged from Kant after Kisevetter’s book, Fundamentals of Pure General Logic from Kantian Positions ( German: Grundriß einer reinen allgemeinen Logik, nach Kantischen Grundsätzen ), which Kant regarded as plagiarism , was published ; this textbook was then translated into Russian and widely used: citing it, Leo Tolstoy cites an example of the syllogism in “The Death of Ivan Ilyich” - “Kai is a man, people are mortal, therefore Kai is mortal.” Kizevetter was later a professor of logic at the Military Academy.

Kizevetter’s most fundamental work was Versuch einer faßlichen Darstellung der wichtigsten Wahrheiten der neuern Philosophie, für Uneingeweihte ( 1795 - 1803 ).
