Men's pole vaulting competitions at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games took place on August 13 and 15, 2016 at the Olympic Stadium .

The competition was attended by 32 athletes from 17 states. The winner was the Brazilian Thiago Braz da Silva , setting an Olympic record of 6.03 meters . The long-term leader of the men's pole vault, Frenchman Renault Lavilleni , finished second with a score of 5.98 meters .
