Distributed in the Mediterranean , the Canary Islands , in Western Asia.
Botanical description
Small shrubs are felt or woolly pubescent, rarely bare perennial grasses.
Leaves alternate, entire or slightly notched-toothed.
The baskets are single, dioecious, discoid, that is, without reed flowers , with several rows of female flowers and bisexual flowers.
Achenes are small, slightly flattened.
