Biography
At 17, he moved to the GDR [1] . He began his career at the Neustrelitz club in 1961 [2] . From 1962 to 1965 he played for the East German team “ Neubrandenburg ”, together with the team he played in the championship of the GDR . Then he was a player of the Hafiya club. Together with the team, he repeatedly became the champion of Guinea and three times won the victory in the African Champions Cup in 1972 , 1975 and 1977 .
In 1968, the head coach of the Guinean national team Nabi Camara summoned the Sheriff to the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City. Guinea took the last fourth place in its group, losing to Colombia , Mexico and France . Sheriff Suleiman at the tournament held three games [3] .
In 1970 he participated in the African Cup of Nations , which was held in Sudan. The Guinean team took the penultimate third place in its group, ahead of Congo and losing to Ghana and the United Arab Republic . The sheriff played in three games of this tournament [4] .
In 1972 he was recognized as the best football player in Africa , currently being the sole owner of this award from Guinea [5] . In 1973 and 1977, he was in eighth place in the voting for the title of best African football player [6] [7] .
In 1974 he participated in the African Cup of Nations , which was held in Egypt. The Guinean team took the penultimate third place in its group, ahead of Mauritius and losing to Zaire and Congo . Suleiman played in two games of this tournament [8] .
At the 1976 African Nations Cup in Ethiopia, the Guinean team won silver medals in the tournament. Having lost in the final round to the team of Morocco . Jacob played in six games and scored one goal against Morocco [9] .
According to the results of voting on the official website of FIFA, Keita took 31 place in determining the best player in Africa in the XX century [10] .
After the career of a football player, Suleiman switched to a coach. In 1985, he led the Guinean youth team at the World Cup in China. At the tournament, Guinea, led by the Sheriff, took fourth place. In 1995, together with the team, he went to the World Cup in Ecuador, where the Guineans could not leave the group. Since 2004 he has been working in the Guinean Football Federation [1] . In 2007, he led the second Guinean team in the Amilkar Cabral Cup [11] .
