Biography

At 17, he moved to the GDR [1] . He began his career at the Neustrelitz club in 1961 [2] . From 1962 to 1965 he played for the East German team “ Neubrandenburg ”, together with the team he played in the championship of the GDR . Then he was a player of the Hafiya club. Together with the team, he repeatedly became the champion of Guinea and three times won the victory in the African Champions Cup in 1972 , 1975 and 1977 .

In 1968, the head coach of the Guinean national team Nabi Camara summoned the Sheriff to the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico City. Guinea took the last fourth place in its group, losing to Colombia , Mexico and France . Sheriff Suleiman at the tournament held three games [3] .

In 1970 he participated in the African Cup of Nations , which was held in Sudan. The Guinean team took the penultimate third place in its group, ahead of Congo and losing to Ghana and the United Arab Republic . The sheriff played in three games of this tournament [4] .

In 1972 he was recognized as the best football player in Africa , currently being the sole owner of this award from Guinea [5] . In 1973 and 1977, he was in eighth place in the voting for the title of best African football player [6] [7] .
