Description
Small short-beetles , body length 2.7-3.0 mm. The main color is dark brown (elytra, legs and legs are often reddish-brown). The pubescence is yellowish gray, long and dense. The pronotum width is 1/4 less than the width of the elytra, the length of the elite is slightly larger. 5-10th antennal segments elongated. Antennae 11-segmented. Forelegs 4-segmented, middle and hind paws 5-segmented (formula 4-5-5). Active from June to October. The species was first described in 1906 by the American entomologist Thomas Casey ( Thomas Lincoln Casey, Jr. , 1857–1925) based on materials from the USA [2] , and its valid status was confirmed during the audit conducted in 2008 by Canadian entomologists Jan Klimashevsky ( Jan Klimaszewski ; Laurentian Forestry Center, Ontario , Canada ) and Reginald Webster [1] .
