Short Biography

Kristina became one of the first Soviet synchronized synchronists: in 1988, she made her debut at the Olympics in Seoul , taking 7th place in qualification and 7th place in the final. And in 1989 she became the champion of Europe from the USSR [1] . Since 1991, she played for Greece and won a silver medal for the Greek team at the European Championships in Athens, which was a major breakthrough for Greek water sports [2] .

In 1992, at the Olympics in Barcelona, Cristina took already 6th place in the qualification and 6th place in the final. In 1995, Christina took a bronze medal at the European Championships in Vienna as a soloist. At the 1996 Olympics, the Greek team did not perform synchronized swimming, but in 2000 in Sydney, Christina already performed in a duet with Despina Theodoridou , but they took 13th place and did not reach the final. Against the backdrop of strong rivals from Russia, Spain and France, Christina, as the most talented synchronist of Greece, still could not be a contender for a medal: in 2002, she became only 4th at the European Championships in Berlin [3] . In 2004, in her historical homeland, Kristina performed in a duet with Eleftheria Ftuli [4] (9th place in the final) and in group competitions: Greek women took 8th place. At the end of the performance, the audience applauded Christina, who officially announced the end of her career after the Games in Athens [5] .

Christina is now engaged in coaching, preparing synchronized synchronists from Greece [6] .

Christina has a daughter [7] .
