Biography
A member of the CPC since 1948. He was at party work in Beijing, on the Shijingshan Electricity, since 1957 - secretary of the party committee.
He was removed from all posts during the Cultural Revolution . In 1970 he returned to the Shijingshan Power Station.
- 1975-1982 - Deputy Minister of Water Resources of China,
- 1982-1984 - Minister of Urban and Rural Construction of the PRC.
In 1984-1992 - Secretary of the Beijing CCP City Committee. According to the memoirs of the former Secretary General of the CPC Central Committee, Zhao Ziyang , published posthumously in 2009 during the events on Tiananmen Square (1989), he took a tough position, demanding the use of force to suppress protests [2] [3] .
In 1993-1998. - Deputy Chairman of the All-China Assembly of People's Representatives of the 8th convocation.
Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the CPC (1987-1992).
