He was a canon in Zagreb , then rector of a Croatian college in Vienna . He wrote in Latin a number of works on the history of southern Slavs, the most important of which are: “Historia cathedr. ecclesiae Zagrebi ”(brought to 1603 ; Zagreb, 1769 ) and“ De regnis Daim., Croat., Slav. notitia praeliminares ”(Zagreb, 1770 ), and in Serbian:“ Żiwljenje błażenoga Augustina Gazotti ”(Zagreb, 1747 ). Krchelich was one of the successors of the world chronicle of Vitezovic .
