The administrative center of the Alsvik parish [8] . Located on the road P39 ( Aluksne - Ape ). The distance to the town of Alūksne is about 9 km [9] .

History
In the 1970s, the settlement was the center of the Alsvik village council of Aluksne district . The village was located state farm "Alsviki" [12] .
