Biography
Pfeiffer served in the theaters of St. Petersburg, Kiev and Odessa . After the October Revolution in 1919 he emigrated to Berlin , where he founded the Russian-German cabaret “Blue Sundress”. In the early 1920s, he acquired contacts in the film industry, at first he worked as an assistant to Karl Fröhlich. He acted as director of the film " Tired Death " with Fritz Lang , where he played a small role. Then he worked as a director of paintings, including the famous films “ Doctor Mabuse, the player ”, “ Nibelungs ”, “ The Last Man ”, “ Tartuffe ” and “ Faust ”. In 1928, Erich Pommer was the chief producer of Universum Film AG , and since 1933 Pfeiffer worked as production director. Max Pfeiffer was exclusively engaged in the production of entertaining films, including numerous musical comedies featuring Lilian Harvey and Marika Röck. Max Pfeiffer was married to actress Lydia Potekhina .
