History
Designed in Haifa, Israel. The Conroe platform entered the market with two electrically compatible processors - Yonah ( Hebrew יונה - pigeon) and the subsequent Merom, performed on the 65 nm process technology. Yonah was already the third generation of the Centrino platform, aimed at the mobile segment, after the generations of Banias ( Hebrew בניאס - a reserve in northern Israel) and Dothan ( Hebrew דותן - an ancient Jewish family). It is worth noting that with the release of Intel Core and dual-core processors, the desktop and mobile segments are very close. Desktop processors have adopted many features from their "mobile brothers." No wonder they are called almost the same.
Yonah Dual Core Intel Core Duo Processors
These processors entered the market with indices T, L (marked with numbers from 2300 to 2700) and U.
The U-family has a clock frequency of 1.06 GHz and a system bus frequency of 533 MHz, equipped with a 2 MB L2 cache. Power consumption - 9 watts.
The remaining processors have an FSB of 667 MHz and the L2 cache also has 2 MB with a core frequency of 1.5 GHz or more (L2300). The top model T2700 has a frequency of 2.33 GHz and consumes up to 31 watts.
All of them are supposed to be used with mobile chipsets 945 and 915 of various modifications (PM, GM with integrated graphics or GMS).
It should be remembered that the Yonah core has two modifications - the dual-core Yonah-DC (Yonah-2P) and the single-core Yonah-SC (Yonah-1P). Above we talked only about dual-core processors. But Intel has not forgotten its single-core platform, Core Solo.
Intel Core Solo processors based on the Yonah-SC (or Yonah-1P) core There are only 2 T and U families in this line. Each model has 2-3 processor models. The U-family is traditionally on the 533 MHz bus and with 2 MB L2. It is represented by only 2 Core Solo U1400 models with a frequency of 1.20 GHz and Core Solo U1300 with a frequency of 1.06 GHz. The T-family of 3 models includes Core Solo T1400 - 1.83 GHz (FSB 667 MHz), Core Solo T1350 - 1.86 GHz (FSB 533 MHz) and Core Solo T1300 1.66 GHz (FSB 667 MHz). All models have a 2 MB L2 cache.
Marking
The marketing name of the processors and their markings were formed according to the scheme: the model index consists of an alphanumeric designation, where the first letter indicates the TDP thermal package into which the processor should “fit”, and the remaining 4 digits indicate its performance index. The first letter indicates:
X TDP over 75 watts
E TDP from 50 W and higher
T TDP 25 W - 49 W
L TDP 15 W - 24 W (Low Voltage)
U TDP 14 W or less (Ultra Low Voltage)
The dual-core Intel Core 2 Duo processors with the Merom core came out with T and L. They have a system bus frequency of 667 to 800 MHz and a shared L2 cache of 2 or 4 MB (see table below).
