Rope puzzles are a type of mechanical puzzles , where to solve it is necessary to disconnect the parts connected by a rope, or to remove the rope itself. It is forbidden to untie the knots, cut or tear the rope, remove the clamps from the ends of the rope.
History
Mention of rope puzzles was before our era, for example, the famous knot left to the descendants of the Phrygian king Gordius [1] . Also known were rope puzzles in India, China and other countries.
In the XX-XXI centuries, such puzzles continue to be developed and produced. In particular, they are known for their Soviet puzzle inventor Anatoly Kalinin .
Now puzzle bodies are made of wood, plastic, acrylic , metal or plywood.
Principles of Decision
Most of the rope puzzles are solved by untangling the ropes themselves. In particular, the rope loops are threaded through holes, or the ends of the ropes are drawn through the loops. Untie any nodes in the decision process rules prohibit.
In some puzzles (in Fig.) It is necessary to remove the ring or similar part.
