Biography

Born on August 4, 1939 in Western Belarus , now the territory of Poland .

After leaving school, he served for four years in the Soviet Army on the cruiser Alexander Nevsky of the Northern Fleet . After the army he studied at the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute . In 1969 he arrived at the Volga Automobile Plant , where he worked until 2004.

He began his career as a craftsman, then moved along the party line, after a while taking the post of deputy secretary of the plant party committee. Later he became the Deputy General Director for Human Resources of AvtoVAZ OJSC. On September 4, 1986, the Government of the country decided to create an industrial scientific and technical center (STC) at the Volga Automobile Plant, the first director of which was V.V. Kadannikov . From 1989 to 2004, the scientific and technical center was led by Konstantin Sakharov, while being vice president of technical development at AvtoVAZ. For many years, Sakharov was the permanent president of the Lada hockey club . [one]

On March 10, 2004, Konstantin Grigoryevich announced his resignation due to his retirement. He died in Togliatti in 2007 .

KG Sakharov was the initiator and organizer of the creation of the Technical Museum at the plant, which was opened on September 7, 2001 in honor of the 15th anniversary of the scientific and technical center (now the Park complex of the history of technology named after K. G. Sakharov ).

In 1978 he was awarded the Silver Medal of VDNH of the USSR : “For the development and application of a new enterprise structure, progressive forms of labor organization and wages, the development of effective socialist competition, highly qualified personnel training, the release of 15.5 thousand production workers, and the achievement of project complexity by all production teams , certification of 4 models (out of 5) of Zhiguli vehicles for the State Quality Mark . ” [2]

He was awarded the Order of Friendship of Peoples , the Order of the Red Banner of Labor , and the Jubilee Medal "300 Years of the Russian Navy . " [3]

On October 30, 2004, Konstantin Sakharov was awarded the medal “For Contribution to the Heritage of the Peoples of Russia”, established by the Congress of the Russian Union of Historical Cities and Regions for special services in preserving and enhancing the historical, cultural and natural heritage of the peoples of Russia.
