The House of Soviets is an administrative building in Cherkasy , which houses the Cherkasy Regional State Administration . Located at 185 Shevchenko Boulevard .

The House of Soviets was built in 1959. For implementation, a standard project of the architects of the Institute “Legiprocommunstroy” Brovkina N. F. , Mikhailova M. N. , Halperina L. Yu. Was adopted . The project was first implemented in Penza , later the House of Soviets in Lipetsk , Novgorod , Orel and The mines . In terms of the building, it is a rectangle with a courtyard, in the back of which stands out a semicircular volume of the meeting room.
The architecture of the building is sustained in the forms of Soviet monumental classicism . On the main facade, facing the square, there are two risalits . The facade is divided into two tiers, the lower of which is highlighted by rust . The central part of the upper tier (3-5 floors) is decorated with columns of the Tuscan order , the risalits are decorated with pilasters . The entrance is framed by the portal . The building is crowned with an entablature with an attic rising from the edges to the center of the building, where a stucco cartouche with the coat of arms of the USSR , banners and ears is located.
