Biography
Since 1899, a member of the socialist movement. In 1906-1915, editor, in 1915-1918 director of the newspaper L'Humanité . In 1914-1919, 1924-1935 he was a deputy of the parliament . During the years of World War I, 1914-1918, a social chauvinist . In 1919-1920 he opposed the accession of the Socialist Party ( SFIO ) to the Comintern . Being the leading figure in the right wing of the Siberian Federal District, he was hostile to communism and the USSR , and advocated the participation of socialists in the bourgeois government. In 1933, he was expelled from the SFIO along with other leaders of the “ neo-socialists ” and became one of the founders of the so-called Socialist Party of France — the Jean Jaures Union.
