Cunningham, Peter

Peter Cunningham ( English Peter Cunningham ; 1816 - 1869 ) - English writer , son of Allan Cunningham , brother of Alexander Cunningham .

The main works of Cunningham are biographical and moral descriptions. The first include books about the poet William Drummond ( Eng. "Life of Drummond of Hawthornden" , 1835 ; Cunningham also prepared the publication of the works of Drummond), architect Inigo Jones ( Eng. "Life of Inigo Jones" , 1848 ), actress and courtesan Nell Gwyn ( English "The Story of Nell Gwynn" , 1852 ). Of the other books by Cunningham, the London guide, in two parts ( Eng. “Handbook of London, past and present” , 1849 , and Eng. “Modern London” , 1851 ), and the adjoining book about Westminster Abbey were best known . . "Westminster Abbey" , 1842 ).
