Biography
From the Germanized Kashubian clan (father adopted the name von Winkler in 1821). At the university, Adalbert von Winkler, raised as a German, adopted the Polish national identity and changed his surname to the original in the family (Kentszynski). Kentszynski was an activist of the Polish movement in Prussia , in Masuria . Then he moved to Austria-Hungary.
Director of the famous Lviv Institute of Ossolinsky . From his writings are known: "Die Sygier" ( 1868 ); "Nazwy miejscowe Prus zachodnich, wschodnich i Pomorza" ( 1879 ); "Katalog rękopisów bibljoteki Ossolińskich" ( 1881 - 1886 ).
After the Second World War, in honor of Ketrzynski, the city of Rastenburg in the former East Prussia was renamed Ketrzyn (1946).
He was buried at the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv.
