Biography
In 1950 he graduated from the Higher School of Theater and Cinema. For several years he was the chief editor of the Hunnia film studio. In 1960 he made his debut as a director (" Rain "). In 1969-1981 - Secretary, and since 1981 - Chairman of the Hungarian Film and Television Union. Member of the HRWP since 1948.
Jury member of the Fifth Moscow International Film Festival and the 29th Cannes Film Festival .
The son is the famous film critic (born 1959).
