- Italy devastated by the Lombards . The Roman Senate begs Tiberius for help, but in vain.
- The commander Mauritius moved deep into Persia. The Byzantines invaded Arzanen, occupied Afumon, destroyed many other fortresses and ruined the country. Mauritius went to the Tigris and subjugated the fortress of Singaron.
