Development
The game was developed for PC, PlayStation and Nintendo 64 by System 3. The game actively used the capabilities of DirectX 3. The versions for the PC and for the PlayStation differ slightly in terms of graphics, interface and the lack of multiplayer games in the PlayStation.
Gameplay
The player runs a construction company. In each mode, except for “Build, Build, Build.”, In the course of development, special tasks are given, during the execution of which credibility points are awarded. If a player gains 100 authority points, he will be able to exchange them for 10,000 pounds. Also, during the construction of amenities and improvements, the residents of the houses will complain, be capricious and send letters with the text like “please build a subway / school / hospital near my house”, “please arrange my home,” and so on. If you do not fulfill the whims of the residents, they will complain to the consulate (in the US version in the Senate) and the player will receive notorious points. If a player receives more than 100 notorious points, the consulate will raise taxes, privatize several of your buildings or require a heavy fine from the player. If a player gains 100 notoriety three times, the game will be considered lost.
Modes
The game contains three difficulty levels - "Easy", "Medium", "Complex". If a player completes the game at a difficult level and earns £ 1,000,000 in less than twenty years, several types of new buildings will open. In Financial Conquest mode, earn £ 1,000,000 in less than 40 years. In the "World Domination" mode, build up more space than competitors. In the Utopia City Mode, make all residents as happy as possible, equip their homes to the highest possible level, provide them with all possible amenities and provide quick access to the hospital. There is also a mode of “Build, Build, Build.”, In which goals as such are absent and the player can do whatever he wants, not limited to time and special tasks.
