Attenborough is a settlement in England, the Brockstow area of Nottinghamshire , now a suburb of Nottingham . Population: 2,328 inhabitants (2011).

History
In Saxon times, the settlement was called Adensburg ( dr. English Addensburgh ). In these places Henry Ayrton was born - a general from the Civil War .
At the cemetery of the church of St. Mary, 134 victims of the explosion at the Chilwell cartridge factory [1] , which occurred on July 1, 1918 (the largest in the number of victims in mainland Britain, 8 tons of tons ), are buried.
Attractions
- Parish Church of St. Mary on the banks of the Trent River. First mentioned in 964, the existing stone building was built before 1042.
Reserve
Nearby is the Attenborough Nature Reserve, 145 hectares, located on the site of old gravel and sand quarries. Mined quarries are flooded with water and become the habitat of a large number of birds.
