Espio the Chameleon ( エ ス ピ オ ・ ザ ・ カ メ レ オ ン Esupio Dza Kameraon , English Espio the Chameleon ) - anthropomorphic purple chameleon ; he is a born leader with a calm and judicious character, and is a symbol of the Chaotics team. The Espio family is not mentioned anywhere. Only in the Sonic the Hedgehog comics are there hints that Espio's mother is the Bride of Constant Vigil , one of the four leaders ( Brides ) of the Dragon Kingdom ninja clan. In the same comics, Espio, in the possible future, shows his two daughters - Chameleon Salma and Chameleon Juanita.

Role in Games

Espio first appeared in Knuckles' Chaotix for the Sega 32X . According to the Japanese leadership of the game, he, as a detective, sets off to explore the island, which mysteriously appeared from the ocean. In the American leadership, Espio is represented as a friend of the echidna Knuckles , and was on Carnival Island at the moment when Dr. Robotnik attacked him. The next game in which Espio appears is Sonic the Fighters . In it, Espio is presented separately, without the rest of the members of the Chaotics team. He is one of eight game characters, and the fourth with whom the player has to fight in story mode. The battle with Espio takes place at the Mushroom Hill stage, which had previously appeared in Sonic & Knuckles . Like Knuckles' Chaotix , Espio uses a whirl attack in Sonic the Fighters , and in addition he can attack with his long tongue.

In Sonic Heroes, Espio, along with Vector and Charmi, performs the tasks of an unknown owner of a voice that sounds from a walkie-talkie sent to the Chaotics. Having found out at the end of the game that this voice belonged to Dr. Eggman , locked on the basis of Metal Sonic , Espio, Vector and Charmi come to the aid of the Sonic team. In this game, Espio is a “high-speed” member of the team, so he runs faster than Vector and Charmi and can create small whirls. Unlike other high-speed characters in the game (Sonic, Shadow and Amy), he can become invisible, throw shurikens and stick to the walls. He is also the only high-speed character in Sonic Heroes who is not a hedgehog.

In Shadow the Hedgehog, Espio helps Shadow the Hedgehog hack into Dr. Eggman 's computer system. The player can choose Espio as a partner at the Mad Matrix level; in game versions for GameCube and PlayStation 2 , using the second controller, it becomes possible to control Espio.

In Sonic Rivals 2 , Espio's mission is to uncover the case of the missing Chao. For this, the chameleon has to unite with the hedgehog Silver , who arrived from the future. After Sonic the Fighters, this is the second game in which Espio is the only game character of the Chaotics team.

Among his other appearances, Espio is one of the judges at Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games and Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games . In these games, he can become a game character only with the help of a hack. In Olympic Winter Games, an Espio costume can be worn by Mii . Crocodile Vector ( Japanese ベ ク タ ー ・ ザ ・ ク ロ コ ダ イ ル Bekuta: Dza Kurokodairu , English. Like many characters in the series, Vector's design has changed over time: in Sonic Heroes and subsequent games, the crocodile looks lower and less slender than in its old design.

Like the Espio chameleon, the Vector family is not mentioned anywhere; only in the comics Sonic the Hedgehog in the possible future does the crocodile have a son named Argyll.

Role in Games

Vector was conceived for the very first game of the series, Sonic the Hedgehog , as a non-player character. He was a keyboard player in the Sonic rock band , which was supposed to play in the Sound Test menu of the game, but because the picture took up a lot of space on the cartridge , they refused the idea with the group. As a result, Vector's first appearance took place in 1995's Knuckles' Chaotix game. According to the Japanese game guide, Vector is sent to an island that appears out of nowhere. Sonic X Role

The vector is present in the anime series Sonic X ; Together with Espio and Charmi, he first appears in the 39th series, where, being hired by the rabbit Vanilla, he is looking for her daughter rabbit Krim , and finding her in the house of Thorndike, mistakenly considers Sonic a kidnapper. Charmi bee ( Japanese チ ャ ー ミ ー ・ ビ ー Ty: mi: Bi: Eng. Charmy Bee ) - anthropomorphic bee 6 years old; the youngest member of the Chaotix team - both by age and by rank. However, his design in this manga is significantly different from his design in games. In this manga, Charmi is introduced as Sonic's assistant, and can control time. Charmi also appeared in the Corocoro Special in adapting the plot of the game Sonic the Hedgehog 2 .

Charmy's first appearance in games was at Knuckles' Chaotix .
