Biography
Konstantin Piliev was born in a small town Belotskoe (according to other data Belozerskoe ), Donetsk region . Outstanding achievements in youthful sport did not differ. In 2003, he became the champion of Ukraine among juniors up to 20 years old with a sum of 367.5 (160 + 207.5) kg, setting a record for Ukraine in juniors in jerk (207.5). The first serious success came to Pilieva in 2005 at the European Weightlifting Championships in Sofia - Konstantin with a total result of 380 kg (170 + 210) received a bronze as an asset to the Ukrainian team [1] .
In 2006, at the World Championships in Santo Domingo, the Ukrainian heavyweight managed to improve his last year’s result (385 kg (171 + 214)) [2] , but this was not enough even to get into the top five. Despite the fact that all the winners raised the same weight, which is only 7 kg higher than Piliev, the sixth place of Constantine looked unsatisfactory. However, this result, as it turned out later, became the best in the career of a Ukrainian at the World Weightlifting Championships. In one of the following world competitions, Piliev never rose above the 11th row.
At the continental championships, the Ukrainian athlete went much better. In 2007, he finished sixth at the European Championships in Strasbourg with a score of 379 kg (166 + 213; minor bronze in the jerk) [3] , and the following year at a competition in Lignano Sabbiadoro only 2 kg separated him from the bronze award, and again small bronze in the push (382 kg (170 + 212)) [4] .
In 2012, Konstantin Piliev received the right to represent the Ukrainian team at the London Olympics in the weight category up to 94 kg, took the 12th method (372 kg (166 + 206)) [5] . After the disqualification of a number of athletes took the 5th place.
