Biography
George was born February 19, 1873 in to the family of Edward and Elizabeth (Meredith) Barnett [1] .
In 1891, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from , and in 1902 a PhD in philosophy from Johns Hopkins University [1] .
He began teaching since 1901 as a teacher, then as an assistant professor, associate professor of political economy until 1911, and from 1911 as a full professor in the department of statistics at Johns Hopkins University [1] .
In 1909 he worked in the research group of the National Monetary Commission , and in 1913 he headed the research group of . He was a member of the US Census Advisory Committee. In 1937, he was selected by investigate labor courts in Australia . Barnett was a member and then president of the American Economic Association in 1932, a member of the , a member of the [1] .
