The men's 4 × 100 meter freestyle swimming competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics was held on August 7 at the Olympic Water Stadium . The competition was attended by 16 teams. The current Olympic champions in this discipline were the swimmers of France, who this time became the second. Gold medals were won by athletes from the USA, bronze on the account of Australian swimmers.
