Davis, Nicole

Nicole Marie Davis (born April 24, 1982) [1] - American volleyball player . He plays for the Romanian team Dynamo (Bucharest). Plays in the position of the libero . She played in the Fenerbahçe club in the 2007 season and wore uniform number 1. She was the first foreign player in the libero position to start playing in the Turkish league (in which she led her team to second place). Davis represented the United States at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics , and both times her team was awarded silver medals. She also performed as part of an American team that won the 2014 Women's World Volleyball Championship .

Life and sports career

Davis was born in Stockton, California , in the family of Randy and Barbara Davis. [2]

She graduated from Lincoln High School in Stockton in 2000. Over the four years of her training, she was awarded three times for success in sports and played volleyball as a player and libero. As a graduate student, she was honored with the San Joaquin League Award. In the same year of training for the entire sports season, her statistics were as follows: 357 dribbles, 569 defensive kicks, 35 points and 40 blocks. For all the time she played for the school team, she had 705 dribbles, 1,254 defensive hits, 103 points and 82 blocks. In 1999 and 2000, she participated in the NorCal Championship. [3]

She played for the Nike Pacific and Delta Valley Volleyball clubs, from where she was subsequently admitted to the youth Olympic team in 1999 and 2000. [3]

University of Southern California

Nicole Davis has a degree in political science from the University of Southern California .

In her last season at the university, which took place in 2003, she again successfully played in the position of libero and her team won the National Student League Championship (NCAA) for the second time in a row. She took part in all 35 matches and on average had 4.25 defensive blows per game: this was the second best result in the history of the championship. She ended her sports career at the university with a score of 1,093 defensive blows in general and - 3.09 per game on average, thereby taking sixth place in the list of the most successful university players in her nomination. Then she managed to surpass herself and set a new record for defensive strikes among UMC players, opposing Stanford University : there were 31 such strikes. Playing against the team of the University of California at Los Angeles in the NCAA regional final, Davis repeated her record. During the summer of 2003, she trained as part of the A2 American Women's Volleyball Team in Lake Placid, New York . [3]

Her happiest moments in the sport were back-to-back victories at the NCAA Division I Championship in 2002 and 2003.

International appearances

Davis was a member of the US national team, which won the 2014 Women's World Volleyball Championship , defeating the Chinese team 3-1 in the final match. [4] [5]

At the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, she was awarded a silver medal, speaking for the American team.
