Albert Aleksandrovich Markov (born May 8, 1933 , Kharkov ) is an American violinist , composer , conductor , music teacher of Russian origin.

During the Great Patriotic War, he was involved in violin evacuation in Sverdlovsk under the leadership of Peter Stolyarsky . Then he studied in Kharkov with Adolf Leshchinsky . In 1956 he was transferred to Moscow to the Gnesins State Music and Pedagogical Institute , which he graduated in 1957 with the violin class of Yuri Yankelevich , and studied at the graduate school with him. He also studied composition under the guidance of Aram Khachaturian and Heinrich Litinsky . In 1957 he was awarded the gold medal of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow. In 1959, he won second place and received a gold medal at the Queen Elizabeth International Competition .
In 1960-1975 taught at the Gnesins Institute.
In 1975, he emigrated to the United States. In 1976 he made his debut in this country as a soloist with the Houston Symphony Orchestra . Since 1981, he has been teaching at the Manhattan School of Music , has published textbooks “Violin technique” ( Eng. Violin technique ), “Little Violinist” ( Eng. Little Violinist ),
"System of violin playing" (English "System of violin playing")
He is the author of three operas, a symphony, a violin concerto, six rhapsodies for violin by the sestro and
and other chamber and symphonic compositions.
Among the recordings of Markov the violinist is Concerto No. 2 by Nikolo Paganini (with the Symphony Orchestra of the All-Union Radio and Central Television under the direction of Gennady Rozhdestvensky ).
