Story
Student Rodion Raskolnikov, wanting to test his theory of dividing people into “trembling creatures” and “Napoleons”, kills with an ax the old percent-woman and her sister, who accidentally ended up in the apartment at that moment. The deed horrifies Rodion. Raskolnikov is confused - he cannot find a place for himself. His sister Dunya is going to marry without love, the theory of an “extraordinary man” is falling apart before his eyes, and Rodion himself is plunging deeper into the abyss of fears and nightmares. Investigators of the murder of the percentages are getting closer and closer to Raskolnikov. Fate brings him to Sonechka Marmeladova. A young girl left without parents has to work as a prostitute in order to survive. It is she who convinces Rodion to confess to the murder. Raskolnikov goes to Siberia, and Sonechka comes to the exiled convict.
