The Belousov field is a deposit of polymetallic ores in Ore Altai .
Content
Opening
The Belousovskoye polymetallic deposit was discovered according to the old Chudsk mine workings [1] in 1797 by the mountain master Vasily Belousov. Industrial development began in the XIX century [2] .
Location
The Belousovsky deposit is located within the boundaries of the Berezovsky-Belousovsky ore field , in the vicinity of the settlement of Belousovka, Glubokovsky District, East Kazakhstan Region of Kazakhstan , 18 kilometers north-west of Ust-Kamenogorsk [3] .
Field Description
As a result of geological exploration carried out since 1931, several ore deposits with a depth of 250-500 meters were discovered. In general, the deposit is concentrated in the ore basin adjacent to the Irtysh anticlinorium and the folded belt [3] .
In the lower layers there are strongly metamorphosed amphibole - pyroxene gneisses and micaceous - quartz Ordovician limestones . In the upper layers, spar spongy porphyroids of the Upper Devonian, tuffaceous Albitofirovo-limestone layers, and carbonic sedimentary rocks are located. Ore deposits pierce the Hercynian intrusive bodies. The oxidation zone is located at a depth of 65 meters [4] .
The field belongs to pyrite-polymetallic ore formations. The main ore minerals are chalcopyrite , sphalerite , galena , pyrite , barite . In copper-pyrite ores, the main ones are bornite , chalcocite , pyrite and silver . There are also rare elements - selenium , tellurium , bismuth , gold , cadmium , etc. [4] .
