Glasgow Boys

Among the artists associated with this group were Joseph Crowhall , Thomas Dow , James Guthrie , George Henry , Edward Hornel , Edward Walton , John Lavery , Alexander Rocher , Arthur Melville , Thomas Morton , and many others. James Paterson and William McGregor were the leading figures in this company of Scottish artists. Many of them studied at the Glasgow School of Art .
The influence of Glasgow Boys was felt by French, Spanish, American, and Japanese painters. The group developed through the use of methods of realism and naturalism, often working outdoors. The exact image of the world around them highlighted these artists in the art community of the time.
