Biography
Born on January 23, 1944 in Moscow. He lived on 3rd Frezernaya street (now Basovskaya street ), studied at school number 439. In the Armed Forces since August 1961. In 1966 he graduated from the faculty of "Launch and technical missile systems" of the Serpukhov Higher Command Engineering School . Since June 1966, a senior engineer of the technical missile base of the Aleisk missile division.
For courage and bravery in the performance of military duty, engineer-lieutenant Basov was posthumously awarded the Order of the Red Star by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR . By decision of the Moscow City Council, the former 3rd Frezernaya Street in Moscow, on which the hero grew up, began to be called his name. The words are written on a marble plaque: " The street was named Basovskaya in 1967 in memory of the officer of the Soviet Army Vladimir Grigorievich Basov (1944-1966) who committed a heroic act and died in the performance of military duty ." His name is included in the book of honor of the Komsomol Central Committee .
